With the beautiful summer weather ( in the UK this doesn't happen very often) I decided to treat myself to some refreshing ice lollies. So after work I went to my local supermarket only to discover something that I think is the most amazing invention in the world!!!- Prosecco ice lollies and Prosecco flavoured gummy bears! From this moment my life became complete - I know, I don't need much to make me happy!
So, I decide to pay the hefty price tag- £7.00 for 3 ice lollies and £6.50 for a jar of gummy bears- and with big excitement I went home to consume my Prosecco Goodness. I was really looking forward to it as I never had anything like that and I love Prosecco, but I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed. The Gummy Bears had exactly the same flavour as a normal pack of Harribo bears, when it comes to the ice lollies they were nice and refreshing but again they didn't have much of the Prosecco taste.
This gave me an idea! Am going to make them myself! So yet again off to shop I go to buy bottle of my favourite sparkly drink, bag of gummy bears and ice lolly moulds. All that for less than a £10.
I poured Prosecco inside the moulds adding a bit of peach schnapps to give it a little bit sweeter taste and left it in the freezer overnight.
When it comes to gummy bears I picked all of the clear ones and put it in a small bowl pouring Prosecco all over, covered with kitchen foil and left it in the fridge overnight.
Tick tock... tick tock.... 24hrs later my DIY prosecco confectionary was ready and I could not wait to try it.
First I tried the gummy bears. They were nice but personally I think they were better than the one from the shop but I don't think they are worth the hassle. When it comes to ice lollies....OMG!...They were AMAZING! Very refreshing, not to sweet but also not to bitter.
You could make them not only as a Friday afternoon treat after long week of work but also at your wedding as a palette cleanser between courses or have them as a part of your dessert in the form of sorbet. Am sure your guests going to love it and this will add a little bit of luxury to your wedding!
Let me know in the comments if you tried any of the prosecco products and what do you think:)
If you have any Prosecco left make sure it's not going to waste 😉
